Courage and Faith!

Courage and Faith!

Here's a quick Smorgasboard of Hope upon the Mercy! This is especially
meaningful to me today, as there has just been another massive earthquak 8.2 - 8.7
off the coast of Sumatra. Peole are bracing for the possibility of another
tsunami. Meanwhile, Banda Aceh, where I was only a week ago is
experieinceing widespread power loss; fear, panic, traffic jams and injuries.

These people have inordinate courage and faith in the face of penultimate
disaster.
I wish them all safety, health and happiness. I wish my patients
calm, peace and strength. I pray there will be no tsunami. I pray they will
find their lives enriched, and free from fear.

I have heard from some of my former shipmates, as they are sailing back to San Diego aboard the Mercy, providing humanitarian aid to islands along the way. They were far enough away from the earthquake to not feel or see any effects but are "on alert" in case Mercy's mission changes and they return to the Sumatran shores of Bande Aceh. I wish everyone there on sea and on land a calm night.

May the force be with them all. Can't imagine how they can return to normal. These people are super heroes in my book. Glad you are home.
