Reflection

I haven't posted in quite awhile, and discovered this morning that my blog was "disabled".  It started me thinking about how I visit this site myself to reflect upon all we had experienced. 

Often I wonder what became of all those people we cared for.  My life was so dramtically changed by them, and I want to thank them.  I've become a much stronger, compassionate and wiser nurse because of their strong spirit. Those wonderful people faced devastating, life altering change with a tensile, visceral, calm strength I can only hope someday to achieve myself.  

In addition to many more volunteer efforts inspired by my experience n Indonesia, I now find myself creating opportunity for change, to find ways to promote and provide better healthcare, and to widen our horizons in how we confront our looming medical issues before they sweep over us like a tsunami.  I firmly believe there is Hope.
